The Lahore Polo Club and Allied Bank Limited (ABL) have formally entered into a prominent sponsorship deal for two of the nation’s most esteemed polo events.
The official signing event occurred at the Lahore Polo Club, with Malik Azam Hayat Noon, President of LPC, and Syed Nabeel Ahmad, Group Head of Marketing at Allied Bank, concluding the collaboration. According to this deal, Allied Bank will act as the title sponsor for the historic Punjab Cup, the region’s oldest sports trophy, and the National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup, which is considered the peak of polo in Pakistan.
The event was graced by a notable group of sports and banking authorities, such as LPC Executive Committee member Feroze Gulzar, senior official Agha Najib, and Secretary Maj Amjad Ghafoor. Speaking to the audience, LPC President Malik Azam Hayat Noon thanked Allied Bank for their support. He highlighted that such competitions are deeply rooted in Lahore’s culture, pointing out that the Punjab Cup has been held at the Lahore Polo Club since 1886, marking it as a living symbol of sports history.
Syed Nabeel Ahmad, the Group Head of Marketing at Allied Bank, emphasized the institution’s dedication to safeguarding social and cultural heritage. “Sports such as Polo must be preserved and handed down to future generations,” he stated. “Events like this bring out the best in players and those who value this noble sport.
