Green Bay PackersStar Rasheed Walker was reportedly taken into custody at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Friday following an attempt to board a flight with a firearm and bullets.

A 6-foot-6 offensive tackle, aged 25, was arrested around 11 a.m. following a report to Delta Air Lines employees that a locked box containing a 9mm handgun was in his bag.

That is as per theNew York Post, who claim The Port Authority police examined Walker’s bag and discovered the firearm along with 36 rounds of ammunition.

A 25-year-old is dealing with two charges of second-degree illegal weapon possession and unlawful firearm possession. He was reportedly seen at Queens County Criminal Court on Friday prior to being set free. Walker is scheduled to return to court in March.

In a statement to the Post, his lawyer, Arthur Aidala, mentioned that the firearm is legally registered inWisconsin– where Walker participated – and that the NFL player was unaware he couldn’t carry it in New York.

It was stored in a locked box, and he revealed it to the airport staff,” Aidala said. “He informed a Delta representative that he was carrying a firearm. He incorrectly believed that because he had a valid firearms permit and the weapon was in a locked container, he was allowed to transport it. We are certain the case will be dropped.

Walker has been with the team for four seasons after being chosen by the franchise in the 2022 NFL draft, selected 249th overall from Penn State.

The offensive lineman agreed to a four-year, $3.74 million deal with Green Bay and has participated in 52 games with the Packers. However, he is set to enter free agency.

Walker played in 16 games for the Packers during the 2025 season, contributing to Matt LaFleur’s team making the playoffs. Green Bay was eliminated in the Wild Card round by the Chicago Bears.

Earlier in the week, the Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver, Jordan Addison, had a trespassing charge dismissed following his arrest in January.

Addison was taken into custody at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa,Floridaat 3:45am on January 12, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office stated, at that time, just one month following the early termination of his DUI probation.

However, on Tuesday, following the review of the criminal report filed against him, Hillsborough County State Attorney Susan S. Lopez issued a ‘Notice of Termination of Prosecution’ document, ending the case.

As reported by the NFL Network, attorneys representing Addison are currently getting ready to submit a civil lawsuit based on their assertion of an unjust arrest.

A 23-year-old Addison’s lawyer was also quoted in a statement saying: ‘As Mr. Addison’s representative has mentioned, from the beginning of this incident and arrest, Mr. Addison did not commit any legal offense.’

We are delighted that the truth was ultimately uncovered and this unfortunate man’s reputation is no longer tarnished. I am grateful that we managed to expose this as swiftly as possible.
