With regard to most dogs, there’s essentially no way to regulate their volume. My dog is a perfect illustration of this; whether there’s a burglar attempting to enter the house or a young child cycling down the sidewalk, her bark remains identical in intensity.

However, certain puppies have perfected the skill of the soft bark, as Harper, the Australian Shepherd, clearly shows in the video below.

In this extremely lovely video that @harpertheaussie_shared on TikTok, a dog called Harper is showing everyone how she can “whisper,” and she’s truly an expert at it.

She’s still barkingBut it’s as if someone has turned her volume way down. And the fact that she can do it on command? Her mother has truly taught her something remarkable here. This would be extremely helpful for dogs that need to let out those barks, but at inappropriate times.

And indeed, she was given a reward for performing so well—just as she deserved!

Murmuring is not the only valuable ability that Harper possesses, however. She is also very skilled atsmilingon command—did you know that was something you could teach a dog to do?!

In a video shared by Harper’s mother earlier this month, we witness her breaking into a smile for a photograph as her mother prepares to capture the moment. She’s an incredibly gifted little dog!

This young lady is maturing quickly as well. Last week, shecelebrated her first birthday, including presents and a unique trip along with everything pink, and from the video posted on her TikTok account, it appears she had an amazing time.

If she has already acquired so many abilities within her first year, what more will Harper achieve in her second year?!
