Supporting grassroots sports development and youth empowerment, the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) presented a newly renovated international standard netball court to Eros Primary School on 28 January.

Supervising the transfer, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Hon Dino Ballotti praised NamRA for their dedication to advancing education and sports development. “Ensuring access to high-quality sports facilities is essential in developing talent, fostering discipline, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students.”

Sam Shivute, Commissioner of NamRA, stated that the initiative is part of their larger corporate social responsibility program aimed at making lasting, positive changes in communities. “Focusing on youth, especially through education and sports, matches our goal of making a significant contribution to national development, not just through revenue generation,” he said.

Principle of Eros School, Jacobina Hamata stated that the advantages would not be confined to the school but would reach the community, serving as a facility accessible to everyone.

NamRA emphasized once again that the upgraded court will offer students a secure and professional setting to practice, participate in competitions, and enhance their athletic abilities. “The initiative highlighted our continuous dedication to collaborations that benefit communities, inspire young people, and promote sports development at the school level throughout the nation.”
