Chelsea’s manager, Liam Rosenior, has shared encouraging team updates ahead of the Premier League match against West Ham on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues resume their domestic fixtures after a strong 3-2 come-from-behind win against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League this week, with Rosenior confirming that Cole Palmer is fit and set to start against the Hammers.
Palmer had a significant influence coming off the bench in Naples, providing two assists to Joao Pedro, and finished the game without any problems.
At his pre-match press conference on Friday, Rosenior stated, “Cole is fine.” He mentioned this during his pre-game meeting at Cobham. “He performed exceptionally well the other night, contributing with two assists. He is ready to start tomorrow, and we are very pleased about that.”
Rosenior also emphasized Palmer’s mindset and eagerness to compete, while underlining the significance of maintaining his physical condition. “He wants to play every minute of every game; that’s what sets him apart as a remarkable talent,” he mentioned. “However, when choices are made, they are always for the benefit of the players.”
The head coach also shared news regarding multiple players who are currently injured. Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Dario Essugo are all showing good progress in their rehabilitation, but none will be hurried back into play.
They’re all becoming more united each day and are making good progress,” Rosenior said. “Tosin returned to the field today for his individual rehabilitation. Romeo is in a very positive state, and we just need to ensure this final phase of his recovery is solid. Dario is slightly behind.
More positive news about Levi Colwill, who has been out since pre-season due to a knee injury. Rosenior stated that the defender is progressing well and may come back before the season ends, although he emphasized the need for care.
He’s on the correct path and in a very positive position,” Rosenior remarked. “It has been fantastic to witness him returning to the field and running again. He’s eager to come back, but we won’t impose any pressure on him. His well-being is the top priority.
Chelsea aims to continue their European success as they host West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.
