London, January 29, (PA Media/dpa/GNA) – Serena Williams has not excluded the possibility of a surprising comeback in tennis.

A 44-year-old athlete has not participated in professional tennis since her loss to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the 2022 US Open, though she described her exit as “moving away” from the sport instead of retiring.

Williams dismissed rumors in December that she might be thinking about returning, even though she has rejoined the sport’s drug testing program.

Nevertheless, the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion did not entirely brush off the question during an interview on The Today Show in the United States.

“Truly, are you asking this on the Today Show? Oh, my word,” Williams remarked when the possibility of a possible return to play was brought up to her.

I’m simply having a good time and appreciating life at the moment.

That’s not a yes or no. I’m uncertain. I’ll just wait and see what occurs.

I have two children. I am a full-time homemaker. A few days ago, when I completed a form, it asked for my occupation. I wrote ‘Housewife.’

When asked if she had rejoined the drug testing program, Williams responded: “Did I rejoin? I’m not sure if I was ever out. Listen, I can’t talk about this.”
