The Executive Pardon Initiative has provided “an extra 900 laptops to recipients of its academic support program at Nigerian institutions of higher learning,” signifying the third round of allocations in the nation.

Among the most recent recipients are students from collaborating institutions, Nigeria Maritime University and Admiralty University of Nigeria, along with those from non-collaborating universities, Dennis Osadebey University, Southern Delta University, and the University of Delta.

The computers were unveiled on Friday as per the instruction of PAP Administrator Dennis Otuaro.

PUNCH Online states that the initiative had already provided 663 laptops in May 2025 and 1,857 devices in November 2025.

These details were included in a statement released by the PAP Administrator’s media assistant, Igoniko Oduma, on Sunday.

Handled by his Special Assistant for Special Projects, Sokoto Victor, Otuaro emphasized that the project demonstrates a firm dedication to human resource development in the Niger Delta.

He emphasized the role of education in fostering individual development, creativity, and long-term progress throughout the region and the nation.

This allocation of laptops reflects our deep dedication to the general academic achievement of our students. This device is a crucial resource designed to support your studies, research, and creative endeavors.

“We encourage you to use them wisely in order to attain exceptional outcomes and validate your selection for the scholarship program,” he stated.

Otuaro also thanked President Bola Tinubu for backing the program, and to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for overseeing the project.

As per the statement, numerous students who received the laptops characterized the distribution as prompt, mentioning that it would greatly support their academic work.

As per PAP, Otuaro has sent more than 9,000 students to universities inside and outside Nigeria for different courses that align with industry needs since taking up his position in March 2024.

The PAP was founded in 2009 with the aim of tackling insurgency in the Niger Delta by arming and reintegrating past protesters.

Over time, it has shifted its attention to programs that provide skill development, learning opportunities, and initiatives promoting empowerment, all designed to encourage peace and progress in the oil-abundant area.
