It emits radiation 400 times quicker than current techniques.

IHH Healthcarehas put capital into the U.S.-based medical technology firm TibaRay to aid in the creation and implementation of advanced radiation therapy systems for cancer care.

The funding aids IHH’s transformation plan and its Centers of Excellence approach in cancer treatment, heart care, and orthopedics, as the Group aims to implement new technologies throughout its hospital system.

TibaRay is creating exclusive linear accelerators that provide radiation at extremely fast rates — over 400 times quicker than existing systems — while ensuring high accuracy. The innovation seeks to decrease treatment duration, enhance dose management, and minimize radiation to surrounding healthy tissue.

The technologies are derived from studies and patents developed by organizations such as Stanford University, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, and Arizona State University.

TibaRay’s Chief Executive Officer, Thinh Tran, stated that the collaboration occurs as the company gets ready to introduce Galactica, its initial commercial system.

Through the partnership, IHH and TibaRay will collaborate on clinical assessments, exchange of information, and the implementation of the technology throughout IHH’s network in major markets.
