She shared comparable opinions with Elleshia and posted the same messages on social media, Saige Cruz, whose father had previously been married to McVeigh, told WALB.

Cruz mentioned that her previous stepmother informed the family she would be away from the country for a while, but she remained unaware of McVeigh’s location until Elleshia’s story was published and she started conducting her own investigation.

She continued by stating that the boy’s family “is definitely trying to bring him back,” explaining that they are collaborating with the US Embassy and Croatian officials to send the child back to Georgia.

The procedure includes submitting paperwork, confirming personal identities and residence, and dealing with language difficulties and varying legal frameworks.

Nevertheless, the family believes it is all worth the effort.

“He requires a consistent home, surroundings, and regular schooling. Just a typical childhood,” Cruz remarked.

Meanwhile, Kendall mentioned that he and Heather are setting aside money to assist with the child’s legal expenses “to get him into a good position, wherever he sees as home.”
