Singer Kim Da-hyun, who is 17 years old, has started civil and criminal legal actions against her previous management company, claiming they did not pay her appearance fees and settlement money.
Kim Da-hyun’s team announced on the 4th, “Despite multiple requests for resolution since November last year, the former agency did not pay Kim Da-hyun’s appearance fees and settlements for events and other income from September to October 2025. We have arrived at a stage where further discussions are no longer possible.” They further stated, “In order to safeguard the mental well-being and rights of a young teenage artist, we had no alternative but to take legal steps.”
As a result, at the end of last month, they submitted a request for a payment order and initiated enforcement actions at the Seoul Central District Court regarding unpaid amounts. Early this month, they also lodged a criminal complaint and indictment with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the former agency’s officials, accusing them of fraud and misappropriation.
The legal representative of Kim Da-hyun, Inui Law Firm, said, “This action is not meant to insult particular people or intensify disputes, but a necessary step to safeguard proper compensation and rights.”
Kim Da-hyun, the youngest daughter of Kim Bong-gon, a respected scholar from Cheonghak-dong, became widely recognized after finishing third in TV Chosun’s *Miss Trot 2* in 2021 and was named MVP in MBN’s *Korea-Japan Singing Contest* in 2024. Following the termination of her exclusive contract with her previous agency due to contractual violations and a loss of trust, she joined Hyun Company at the end of last November and is continuing her music career.
