On the 4th, Cheong Wa Dae reported that President Lee Jae Myung presented Lunar New Year holiday gifts, including bowls, chopstick sets, and ingredients for homemade meals, to different groups in society.

As stated by Cheong Wa Dae, the custom-designed bowls and chopstick sets reflect the president’s aim for cozy home-cooked meals to become a regular part of everyday life, and for straightforward yet heartfelt meals to provide peace and solace to all citizens.

The ingredients for the homemade meal, which consist of rice, multigrain, rice cake soup, rice cakes, sea mustard, shiitake mushroom strips, and traditional soy sauce, highlight the features of the ‘five regional hubs and three special self-governing provinces’ and express the concept of balanced regional development along with mutual growth and integration among regions, according to Cheong Wa Dae.

Attached to the gift card, President Lee stated, “I hope every family member comes together at a table and enjoys a cozy meal,” and continued, “I will work even harder so that you can trust that tomorrow will be improved from today and experience positive changes in your lives.”

This year’s recipients of gifts include prominent individuals, war heroes, socially disadvantaged groups, and also spouses of democratic and war veterans who have been newly included. Cheong Wa Dae mentioned, “We have made it more explicit to honor and respect those who dedicated themselves to the country and their families.”
