A 60-year-old man was taken into custody by authorities following an incident where he tried to entice young female students from an elementary school while under the influence, promising to buy them bread.
The Daegu Gangbuk Police Department reported on the 4th that they have detained Mr. A, aged 60, for suspected attempted abduction of a minor. Mr. A is alleged to have approached three girls, including Ms. B, at a park in Daegu’s Buk-gu area around 3:50 p.m. the day before, stating, “I’ll buy you bread, so come with me.”
The young women firmly turned down Mr. A’s offer and filed a report with the authorities after he departed. Law enforcement found Mr. A close to the park and took him into custody as a person of interest. During that time, Mr. A is said to have refused to cooperate with the police when they asked him to confirm his identity.
The authorities intend to examine Mr. A’s specific reasons behind the crime.
