The Egyptian Embassy in Morocco refuted claims that it had turned down visa requests from Royal Army Club supporters who wished to watch the team’s game against Al Ahly in Cairo on February 13.

In a statement, the embassy mentioned that all visa applications with complete paperwork were handled quickly, and no requests remained unresolved. It explained that the consular department only received the applications on February 5, following the travel agency submitting the necessary documents, including flight details.

The embassy stated that the travel agency was fully accountable for the delay, highlighting its previous awareness of embassy protocols. After the applications were submitted, the visas were granted on February 6 “in a remarkably short time when compared to usual processing periods.”

The embassy reconfirmed its dedication to enabling travel for Moroccan nationals to Egypt, including participation in significant sports events, and reminded travelers about the regulations effective in October 2025 that permit Moroccans holding valid visas or residences from Schengen area countries, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, or Gulf nations to acquire visas upon arrival at Egyptian ports.
