The South Korean mixed doubles curling team, consisting of Kim Seon-yeong from Gangneung City Hall and Jeong Yeong-seok from the Gangwon Provincial Government, faced their fourth straight defeat during the round-robin phase of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, reducing their chances of moving forward in the competition.
The Kim Seon-yeong-Jeong Yeong-seok duo fell 2-8 to Great Britain (Jennifer Dodds-Bruce Mouat) in their fourth round-robin game at the Cortina Olympic Curling Stadium in Italy on the 6th (local time). This came after losses against Sweden (3-10), Italy (4-8), and Switzerland (5-8) in their initial three matches.
The Olympic mixed doubles curling competition includes 10 countries—Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States—participating in the round-robin phase, where the top four teams progress to the main event. South Korea and the Czech Republic are both at the bottom of the standings (4 losses, 9th position). Great Britain, having beaten South Korea, is leading with five consecutive victories, followed by the United States (4 wins), Canada, and Italy (3 wins, 1 loss).
The Kim Seon-yeong-Jeong Yeong-seok duo will aim for their first victory against the Czech Republic on the 7th at 2:35 p.m., local time (10:35 p.m. on the 7th in Korean time).
