MOJEC International Limited has announced that it installed more than 400,000 smart meters across the country in 2025, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous year for this local smart meter producer.
This display showed a 33.3 percent rise compared to the 300,000 meters installed in 2024, emphasizing the magnitude and speed of MOJEC’s metering activities.
Chantelle Abdul, group managing director, credited the ongoing influence to intentional investments in infrastructure, personnel, and technological advancements.
“MOJEC manages two advanced meter manufacturing plants, with a total production capacity of up to five million meters per year. This level of output allows not only to satisfy present demand, but also to assist Nigeria in achieving its future metering and energy efficiency objectives,” she stated.
She also mentioned that MOJEC’s wide-ranging installer network, which includes more than 5,000 certified experts across the country, continues to be a key factor in its competitive edge, guaranteeing efficiency, excellence, and adherence to standards in various environments and markets.
The firm mentioned that the increase in deployment indicated increasing trust from Distribution Companies (DisCos) and industry participants in MOJEC’s technical expertise, quick implementation, and comprehensive metering systems.
As stated by Monday Ubogu, head of installation at MOJEC, the company’s size and uniformity in delivery distinguish it.
In the first three quarters of the year, MOJEC finished approximately 300,000 installations, making up around 40 percent of all installations across the country during that time.
“The momentum carried over into the last quarter with another 150,000 meters installed, showcasing our operational capability and broad national presence,” he stated.
Ubogu mentioned that MOJEC’s performance is based on many years of involvement in the sector, covering major national metering projects such as CAPMI, MAF, Vendor Financing, MAP Phases I & II, and NMMP 0, with the company having installed almost four million meters since the privatization of NESI.
As per the company, a significant part of the deployment was fueled by MOJEC Meter Asset Management Company (M3AC), the Group’s asset management subsidiary, which contributed approximately 350,000 installations.
