During the upcoming Tet Lunar New Year holiday, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City is anticipated to handle approximately 145,000 travelers across roughly 940 flights daily.
This indicates a 25% rise in comparison to standard flight schedules and an increase of approximately 7% over theTet period in 2025.
Two days of highest activity coming upTet, on February 13 and 14, the airport is expected to handle as many as 1,017 flights daily. Post-Tet The highest traffic is anticipated on the 6th and 7th days of the new year, which fall on February 22nd and 23rd, with around 1,025 flights processed each day.
The Chinese New Year starts on February 17, and Vietnam will have a nine-day holiday period from February 14 to 22.
Tan Son Nhat Airport is working closely with airlines and relevant authorities to finish moving the domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Sun PhuQuoc Airways to the new domestic terminal T3. Vietjet’s domestic flights will still be handled at Terminal T1.
The biggest airport in southern Vietnam has also introduced biometric identification and verification systems for boarding, along with setting up clear signs at T3 entry points. These initiatives are designed to improve service standards and reduce processing times for travelers.
During the Tet The period from February 10 to 16 is anticipated to see Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi manage over 725,000 travelers, representing a 16% rise compared to the previous year, with 4,467 flights, an increase of 12%. The peak day is predicted to be February 15, handling approximately 116,000 passengers and 674 flights.
In the post-Tet Phase, traffic at Noi Bai is expected to stay high, with around 737,000 passengers, an increase of 12%, and 4,530 flights, a rise of 15%. The busiest day is anticipated on the 6th day of the Lunar New Year, when the airport could handle 117,200 passengers and 676 flights, the highest figure ever recorded.
