Lee Boo-jin, the head of Hotel Shilla, has caught people’s eye with the clothing and handbag she chose for her son’s high school graduation.

President Lee, together with her aunt Hong Ra-young, who previously served as the deputy director of the Leeum Museum of Art, joined the graduation event at Whimoon High School in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 9th. Throughout the roughly one-hour-long ceremony, she clapped as she watched the performance and waved at her son from afar with a cheerful look.

On this day, President Lee was dressed entirely in black, from head to toe. Her outer garment was a long, well-tailored coat from the French high-end brand Lanvin, featuring a leather belt at the waist. This item is currently unavailable at official stores, with comparable items ranging in price from 3 million to 4 million South Korean won.

The handbag she was carrying was the ‘Numéro Homme’ black tote from the French company Paul & Joe, characterized by a timeless design crafted from calfskin leather. This item is available on the official website for approximately 700,000 South Korean won.

The attire and accessories worn by President Lee Boo-jin during official functions have captured public interest, referred to as the “Lee Boo-jin style.” Certain pieces have experienced higher sales or sold out following reports of her wearing them. Therefore, the fashion choices of business leaders serve not only as a reflection of personal style but also as a significant component in projecting leadership and brand identity.

At the Doo-eul Scholarship Foundation scholarship certificate awarding ceremony held last month, she captured attention with a high-neck wool dress from the local designer brand DEANT. The item is priced between 170,000 Korean won. President Lee also chose a two-piece set from the same brand during the same event in 2024. The ‘Nento Slim Jacket Skirt Two-Piece’ she wore then cost approximately 119,700 Korean won.

President Lee’s son, Lim Dong-hyun, who was born in 2007, studied at Seoul Kyunggi Elementary School, Whimoon Middle School, and Whimoon High School. He recently attracted public interest following the disclosure that he obtained outstanding scores on the College Scholastic Ability Test and was admitted to the Economics Department at Seoul National University.
