The announcement that broadcaster Shin Dong-yup’s daughter has successfully passed the entrance exam for Seoul National University has captured public interest, as her accolades earned during her time at Sunhwa Arts High School were made public.
Shin Ji-hyo shared on her Instagram on the 9th, “I will graduate on February 6, 2026,” alluding to her six-year journey at Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School. She continued, “It’s challenging to part ways with a school where I’ve developed both warm and tough relationships. I aim to begin my 20s by appreciatively stepping onto the new path the school has created, treasuring the memories of joy and sorrow along with the valuable connections I’ve built.”
At the latest graduation event, Shin Ji-hyo was honored as the student representative and recognized as the top graduate in dance, while also being awarded a scholarship. The awards she publicly shared from her three years of high school comprised honors for academic and practical excellence, certificates for outstanding behavior, scholarship documents, and appointment letters as vice president and president of the ballet club, along with other records of her accomplishments and roles.
Shin Ji-hyo captured public attention by being accepted into both the School of Dance at Korea National University of Arts and the College of Education’s Department of Physical Education at Seoul National University. Although she followed a prestigious route as a ballet student, her situation stood out because she successfully prepared for and passed the practical exams at Korea National University of Arts, which emphasizes arts and physical education, as well as the highly competitive academic entrance requirements at Seoul National University.
It emerged during an interview with Shin Dong-yup that Shin Ji-hyo decided to enroll at Seoul National University. As a result, she will join her mother, Sun Hye-yoon PD, as a graduate of the College of Education at Seoul National University, where her mother completed her studies in German Education.
Shin Dong-yup tied the knot with Sun Hye-yoon PD in 2006, and they have a daughter named Shin Ji-hyo, who was born in 2007, and a son, Shin Kyu-wan, born in 2010. He personally announced his daughter’s university acceptance through his YouTube channel last October. During an appearance on the JTBC show *Hands-Free Day*, he spoke about his daughter’s ballet studies, saying, “It began as a hobby, but she loved it so much that she kept going.”
