From my position on Wednesday, it appeared that the attorney general essentially encouraged the United States Congress to initiate her impeachment. Here’s how the New York Daily Newsplace it, summarizing the AP’s reporting on her statement before the House Judiciary Committee:

Attorney General Pam Bondi delivered an intense defense of President Donald Trump on Wednesday, aiming to move past the ongoing scrutiny of the Justice Department’s management of the Jeffrey Epstein documents. She loudly confronted Democrats during a heated session where she sought to shift the focus.she positioned herself as the Republican president’s primary defender.

I included that final part in italics not just to highlight the crucial detail of the news, but also to imply it’s sufficient grounds for impeachment.

The U.S. Attorney General serves as the chief law enforcement official of the country. The Attorney General does not act as the president’s legal representative. Anything less than this level of commitment constitutes a failure of duty and a violation of the oath, serious offenses that warrant her removal from office.

I mean, the opening remarks of ranking member Jamie Raskin could be utilized later when drafting articles of impeachment against Bondi. The Maryland congressman outlined all the ways the attorney general “disregarded the law” enacted by Congress to disclose the Epstein documents.

Reviewing clip after clip, I was taken aback to see that Bondi made no effort to conceal it. In a manner inappropriate for someone in a high-ranking position, she yelled, threw tantrums, and criticized the Democrats, seemingly unconcerned that this exposed the true motive behind her actions – that Donald Trump’s interests are her own, regardless of what is best for the people.

Right away, Bondi’s performance sparked more questions than it resolved, according toNew York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

She was yelling and struggling, and I believe this is because she is aware that she is involved in a large cover-up aimed at shielding a powerful group of child abusers by removing the names of offenders, keeping 3 million documents, and the mysterious transfer of Ghislaine Maxwell to a comfortable new location – all of these matters were personally handled by her. This is before considering any issues related to her past in Florida, and I think her struggling and highly unstable behavior today suggests there are serious concerns pointing to the DOJ under her leadership.

It’s evident that her performance was calculated. It was aimed at shifting focus from the president and the reality that his name is mentioned.over a million timesIn documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein that were made public by the Department of Justice, as stated by Raskin.

She branded herself and perhaps it worked. Most headlines I have seen regarding her testimony are a variation of theDaily News’: “Bondi accuses Democrats during the hearing over delays in releasing Epstein’s documents.”

At a certain moment, the attorney general remarked that rather than criticizing Trump, we ought to be praising him, as the Dow Jones Industrial set a new record this week. She spoke as though she were a devoted admirer. “They claimed it wasn’t possible in four years, yet President Trump achieved it in just one!”

At another instance, rather than responding to Jerry Nadler’s question regarding how many of Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplices she has charged, she essentiallyknocked the pitcher overto prevent stating the awkward reality: nothing.

Bondi was even caught flipping through “flash cards containing personalized insults,” said Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie. “But she couldn’t remember them, so you can see her shuffling through them to find the flash-card insult that fits the member.”

Bondi embarrassed herself for Trump’s benefit, but we must not simply overlook it. We should reflect deeply on that decision. As Raskin noted, in response to her outburst, Bondi was attempting to “filibuster” Congress to stop it from expressing its intent, specifically obtaining information from the attorney general regarding the delays in releasing the Epstein documents.

That is disrespect. Disrespecting Congress is a crime. When you demonstrate disrespect towards Congressto the Congress– regarding the real identities of elected officials while under oath – the Congress cannot ignore it without anticipating such offenses to persist. Address it early. Impeach Bondi.

It’s crucial to state this clearly. Frequently, liberals become entangled in discussions about intent. Why did Bondi act foolishly? Ron Filipkowski, at Meidasnews.com,saidher “deplorable performance was intended to satisfy an audience of one who demands deplorable performances.”

I’m certain that’s accurate, but I also believe the reasons are less significant than the behavior itself. It isn’t particularly important that her clown act was meant to shield Donald Trump. What matters more is ensuring she faces consequences so that future officials understand that clown acts have repercussions.

It’s not feasible to impeach at this moment. The Democratic party lacks sufficient support. Even if they had enough votes, there is no certainty that a majority in the House would result in a conviction by a two-thirds majority in the Senate.

But that is also irrelevant. Fortunately, some Democrats seem to grasp the point, which is that she is currently unfit, and they need to focus on building momentum to regain the House, and then use that majority to push forward the cause of justice. As Raskin stated:

“If the Democrats had the authority, we would issue a subpoena for [Bondi] and demand she respond to our inquiries,” Raskin added.

So that’s why it matters who will be in charge in Congress after the 2026 elections, as we want the authority to issue subpoenas, so we don’t witness this kind of extreme disrespect towards Congress.

In my view, the Democrats appear to be positioning themselves to deliver a message to future sycophants: Pam Bondi may ultimately avoid consequences, but not without enduring significant hardship first.
