World leaders have assembled for the opening day of the Munich Security Conference, one of the key global political gatherings of the year, where discussions will center on the future of the vulnerable transatlantic relationship and initiatives aimed at concluding Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.

The U.S. delegation is being headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who will speak at the conference on Saturday.

Last year, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance made a significant impact in Munich with a speech that surprised Europeans when he claimed the true threat to Europe’s future lies internally, rather than from Russia, due to large-scale immigration and political correctness.

Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to appear today, aiming to push for advancements in peace negotiations. This comes just days after he claimed that Moscow is delaying attempts to end the conflict while simultaneously targeting civilian energy infrastructure during the harsh winter months.
