Police in MarrakechDetained a 29-year-old individual on Saturday following the spread of a video online that allegedly depicted him urging a foreign visitor to acquire drugs for their own use, according to officials.
According to an AR security source, law enforcement initiated an investigation once the video started spreading online. The inquiry resulted in the identification and arrest of the suspect later that same day.
The individual, who has a history of criminal activity, is currently under judicial scrutiny by the relevant public prosecutor’s office to fully investigate the details of the case and uncover the reasons for the alleged offenses, according to the source.
Officials provided no additional information regarding the tourist in question or the nature of the substances mentioned in the video.
Moroccan authorities consistently track material shared on social media platforms and have intervened in multiple instances concerning violations of public order and drug-related offenses.
