February 14, 2026 (ED DAMAZIN) – According to local sources and officials, civilian injuries were reported on Saturday after a drone attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) along with members of the SPLM-N Joseph Tuka faction targeted the headquarters of the Qeisan locality in Sudan’s southeastern Blue Nile region.

The RSF has raised the number of drone strikes targeting towns and villages close to the Ethiopian border. This increase comes after unsuccessful efforts by the paramilitary group and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) to capture the key town of Kurmuk.

The Humanitarian Aid Commission based in the Blue Nile Region released a statement on Saturday that strongly criticized the attack on civilian areas in Bakouri, Qeisan. The commission reported that the drones also targeted the buildings of the Kalsotium Organization, a non-profit group providing crucial aid to the local community.

Qisma Abdelkarim Daldoum, the Deputy Commissioner for Humanitarian Assistance, stated that the assault on a humanitarian organization highlighted a “clear lack of respect for civilian lives.”

The commission rejected the RSF’s assertion that they only targeted military locations, and described the militia’s stated dedication to a humanitarian ceasefire as “a statement disconnected from the truth,” aimed at securing global support while persisting in breaching humanitarian standards.

Although there were strikes, the commission aimed to calm citizens and international bodies, stating that the situation was under control. It acknowledged the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied groups for ensuring safety and keeping the area from descending into more disorder.

Military officials reported that Sudanese army drones conducted intense attacks on SPLM-N positions commanded by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu in Yabus, a secluded town close to the South Sudan border. The military also focused on mobile RSF units in the area of Malkan within the Bau region.

The Sudanese government has alleged that Ethiopia has offered training and logistical assistance to both the RSF and the SPLM-N. A recent investigative report from Reuters last week presented evidence backing these allegations.
