Families coming together to express love and relax during the Lunar New Year holiday. Why not take advantage of this time with a visit to the nearby Gyeonggi Province?

As the initial holiday of 2026, this Lunar New Year signifies the Year of the Red Horse. Here are equestrian tourism spots where you can experience the lively spirit of horses.

◇Horseshoes Resounding in a Vast Circular Arena… ‘Ansan Beradel Equestrian Club’

Beradel Equestrian Club is situated at the western end of Daebudo Island, far from Ansan’s downtown area. The sound of horseshoes can be heard here. The large circular dome ceiling, constructed from special glass, allows natural light to enter. You can fully appreciate the warm sunlight. Its distinctive ambiance has made it a favored location for photo sessions and music video productions.

In the open space, which includes two grassy rings, horses can be seen calmly grazing. Horseback riding sessions and expert instruction are also offered. A trail that ends at the sea near the arena is ideal for a stroll while enjoying the view of the sea from Daebudo.

Accommodation options are available to ensure a pleasant stay. At the campsite, you can experience both horseback riding and camping, while the guesthouse—a separate pension—can house up to 20 individuals.

◇Hwaseong ‘Gungpyeong Camp’ Horseback Riding Club: Discover the Horses’ Unique Personalities

Situated close to the western sea in Seosin-myeon, Mansae-gu, Hwaseong, Gungpyeong Camp is an equestrian club that emphasizes the unity between “horses and humans breathing as one.” The club features two stables, both available for experience bookings. The primary stable is home to 45 horses, while the smaller one contains 6 to 7. Informational notes within the stables provide details about each horse’s name, age, appearance, temperament, and likes.

A trail outside the stadium enables you to walk with a small horse, known as a pony. Leading the reins or riding on the horse during the walk encourages engagement with the animal.

After the walk, head to the cafe on the second floor of the main building. It showcases murals created by artist Kim Shin-ah, who is recognized for her distinctive approach of using black lines against a white backdrop. The club remains open throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.

◇Yangpyeong ‘Golden Saddle’ Equestrian Club: Stunning Scenery, Riding Opportunities, and Cozy Accommodations

Yangpyeong’s Golden Saddle Equestrian Club is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Located on a hill, this place offers the best view among equestrian centers in the Seoul metropolitan area. It takes about 50 minutes by car from Gangnam, Seoul, making it easy to visit whenever you want.

The facility also includes an indoor arena that meets international standards, enabling horseback riding throughout the year irrespective of weather conditions. Trained instructors are on hand, making it convenient for newcomers. The “pony grade” program is advised for those just starting out. The club’s structured method involves examinations that assess riders based on their proficiency.

Behind the arena, a hill features a pool villa and camping area. The pool villa has a private outdoor bath. One of the highlights is soaking in the bath while viewing the distant mountain ranges as steam rises. The club remains open throughout the Lunar New Year holiday.
