February 13, 2026 (KADUGLI/DILLING/ED DAMAZIN) – Intense drone attacks and artillery bombardments between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) occurred on Friday in South Kordofan and the Blue Nile area, signaling a rise in hostilities in two of the nation’s most unstable frontier regions.

The RSF initiated a series of “suicide” and strategic drone attacks on Dilling, the second-largest city in South Kordofan, focusing on key infrastructure and military sites. According to field sources who spoke with Sudan Tribune, the bombardment was one of the most intense the city has experienced since the civil war started in April 2023.

Further south, RSF drones targeted regions near the state capital, Kadugli. Earlier on Friday, a drone attack in al-Kurgal, a transit town connecting Dilling and Kadugli, resulted in at least two deaths and several injuries, as reported by local sources.

In the Blue Nile region, the Sudanese military carried out intense artillery attacks on the towns of Malkon and Yabus close to the Ethiopian border. The region has transformed into a base for an alliance consisting of the RSF and a group from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Joseph Toka.

Abdel Ati al-Faki, the Kurmuk commissioner in Blue Nile, stated to Sudan Tribune that the allied forces are gathering troops south of the town, seemingly aiming to take control of it.
