Moroccan officials have broadened today a coordinated effortto enable inhabitants who have been forced to leave due to recent severe conditionsweatherevents to return to their residences in multiple provinces, the Ministry of Interior stated on Monday.
In the Kenitra Province, local officials stated they have created a strategy to facilitate the return of inhabitants to the impacted villages within the Makrin commune, referencing enhancements in the situation on-site.
Inhabitants from villages such as Oulad Ihssain, Al-Kafifat, Makrin Center, and 28 additional areas are permitted to come back beginning on Monday, February 16.
Officials stated that the timetable for the return of other residents will be disclosed through official announcements as circumstances are re-evaluated.
People living in regions that have not been cleared were advised against traveling to impacted areas to prevent dangers and disturbances.
In the Sidi Slimane Province, authorities stated that every displaced individual had been sent back to their residences after the slow restoration of access.
The initial stage started on Sunday, February 15, focusing on communities in Oulad Ihssain, Amer North, and Al Msaada, with the rest returning on Monday in a secure and well-structured way.
Officials attributed the achievement to the collaboration among organizations and the favorable support from local people.
The Sidi Kacem Province initiated the second phase of its repatriation program on Monday, allowing inhabitants from various villages within the communes of Khnishat, Toughilt, Anwirat, Al Hawafat, Tekna, Bir Al Taleb, Sidi Kamel, Armilat, Sidi Azouz, and Safsaf to return.
Officials stated that additional phases will be disclosed depending on the availability of infrastructure and evaluations conducted in the field, advising people from areas not impacted to await official instructions.

In the Larache Province, authorities stated that inhabitants from most neighborhoods in the city of Ksar El-Kebir were allowed to return on Monday, with the exception of specific regions within Administrative Districts Two and Six, such as Hay Al Basatin, Kozimar Residential Area, and Tarik Larache, where safety protocols are still ongoing.

Officials highlighted better weather conditions and effective on-the-ground operations as main reasons behind the slow increase in return areas, and praised locals for adhering to official instructions in previous phases.
The return procedures come after several weeks of extreme flooding and evacuations caused by intense rainfall and increasing water levels in rivers.
In Ksar El Kebir, educational institutions have restarted face-to-face learning as a result of better weather conditions, according to officials.

Resuming school operations is a component of wider initiatives aimed at bringing daily life back to normal following the floods.
The Moroccan authorities have designated disaster areas in major regions and approved a MAD3 billion support initiative to aid affected families, repair infrastructure, and reinstate critical services.
Cleaning and recovery efforts, such as clearing trash, launching hygiene initiatives, and restoring power, water, phone services, and road access, started in early February when circumstances permitted.
