The ex-wife of Asos co-founder Quentin Griffiths has stated she was ‘unrelated to his death’ following his fall from a balcony inThailand.
A multi-millionaire, aged 58, is said to have fallen from an 18-story building in Pattaya, southern Thailand.Bangkok, on February 9.
Prior to his passing, Quentin and his ex-wife, Ploy Kringsinthanakun, 43, were involved in legal battles where she claimed he stole £500,000 in shares and property from her company, according to The Sun.
The retail businessman’s tragic accident came after a prolonged legal dispute with his ex-wife regarding their two children.
Ploy has stated that she had no part in her ex-husband’s passing.
“I had absolutely nothing to do with his death. How could I have killed him? How would I know anything about it? I live in Bangkok — I wasn’t in Pattaya,” she said to The Sun.
The co-founder of Asos, who is a British citizen, was alone in his room with the door locked from within, and there was no indication of forced entry at the time of his passing,police told the BBC.
An examination of Quentin’s body after death found no signs of foul play.
Ploy stated that it had been over four years since she last reached out to her ex-husband following the revelation that he “had another woman,” alleging he kept her from seeing their children for five years.
She stated: “I found out about his passing only when his attorney contacted both me and my lawyer to set up a discussion about the case.”
Of course I am saddened by his passing, as he is the father of my children, so I am concerned for them and the situation they are experiencing.
I had many conflicts with him in the past, but I have moved forward and simply wanted to be treated justly.
Quentin established Asos in 2000 as an online platform offering clothing at reasonable costs, yet continued to hold a major stake in the company after departing five years later.
In a statement, the company mentioned: “We are saddened by the news of Quentin’s passing, one of our initial co-founders.”
He was crucial during Asos’s initial phase, and we will always appreciate his input.

A representative from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office stated: ‘We are assisting the family of a British citizen who passed away in Thailand and are communicating with local officials.’
