A brief period of disorder has occurred at a rally held by Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna and his Linda Mwananchi team in Kakamega.
This occurred just after a teargas canister was reportedly fired by the police as Sifuna began his speech at Amalemba Grounds.
Sifuna appealed to the residents to remain composed, vowing that they would not be compelled to conclude their gathering, as occurred in Kitengela.
“Good morning everyone! That cold weather is really annoying. Good morning. Good morning. That cold weather. Put on a jacket. The meeting must continue. Let’s keep going, we’ll keep going. Good morning. That cold weather. Come on! There is no new meeting today. You can’t. Call someone else if you are there. No one is ruining this meeting today. You’re doing well. I am Sifuna!” the senator said.
