Iran’s alternative plan for its nuclear program is expected to be finalized in a few days, according to officials, while Donald Trump has cautioned about specific actions.strikesand even a shift in leadership in Tehran.

The Iranian foreign minister stated on Friday that a preliminary counteroffer might be finalized within two to three days for senior Iranian officials to examine.

Iran’s nuclear counterproposal

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, stated after unofficial discussions in Geneva with U.S. officials that Tehran is finalizing a draft response for high-ranking officials to examine in the coming days.

Araqchi mentioned during an interview with a US cable news channelMS NowOn Friday, he expressed hope that an agreement might be finalized “in a very short amount of time,” and mentioned that further U.S.-Iran discussions could take place within the next week or so.

Araqchi did not specify a particular schedule for when Iran would present the counteroffer to U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, but expressed his belief that a diplomatic agreement might be reached.

Trump considers targeted strikes

Trump indicated he is contemplating specific attacks on people as tensions rise regarding Iran’s nuclear response plan.

When questioned about potential strikes on Friday, Trump stated: “I suppose I can mention that I’m thinking about it,” while emphasizing that Iran needs to engage in talks for a “reasonable agreement.”

American military preparations are at a highly developed level, with possibilities such as focusing on specific individuals during an attack and potentially seeking regime change in Tehran if directed by Trump, according to a report from Reuters, which cited two U.S. officials.

Araqchi cautioned that military operations could hinder the process of achieving an agreement.

Trump also mentioned Tehran’s recent suppression of demonstrations, asserting that the threat of US intervention had caused the leadership to cancel planned large-scale executions.
