The leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Jung Chung-rae, and member of the Chief Policy Committee, Lee Sung-yoon, were forcibly removed from ‘Jae Myung’s Village,’ a fan forum backing President Lee Jae Myung.

The leadership group of the Naver cafe “Jae Myung’s Village” revealed the outcome of a vote regarding the mandatory removal of the two leaders on the 22nd. As per the results, among 1,231 votes cast, 1,001 (81.3%) supported the move, while 230 (18.7%) were against it.

The leadership team said, “Jung Chung-rae and Lee Sung-yoon will be permanently removed from the village and are not allowed to return.” They subsequently shared screenshots of the forced removal, stating that “activities violating the cafe’s internal guidelines” were the cause of the decision.

The manager of ‘Jae Myung’s Village’ stated that Jung and Lee created internal party conflicts by deviating from President Lee Jae Myung’s approach. Particularly, they opposed Jung’s effort to merge with the Rebuilding Korea Party and his advocacy for the ‘one person, one vote’ system. As for Lee Sung-yoon, the manager mentioned disputes over his recommendation of a special counsel candidate and accusations of monitoring during the Central Committee vote on the ‘one person, one vote’ system as grounds for expulsion.

The management team stated, “The party leader who causes turmoil and avoids accountability—despite our calls for his resignation, he appears to say, ‘You can keep shouting all you want.’ To make matters worse, appointing Lee Sung-yoon as the head of the special committee to address politically motivated prosecutions only increases the disorder, which we can no longer accept.” They added, “Although they once regularly visited this village to seek public support and posted extensively, they cut off communication when they faced criticism during the last party leadership election. They used the village when convenient but abandoned it when things turned difficult? Do they and their supporters really believe we are that easy to control?”

The management stated, “‘Jae Myung’s Village’ is a place focused on valuing, honoring, and showing love for President Lee Jae Myung above everything else.” They added, “As the administrators, the only small action we can perform is to remove them from this area. Since this village is not solely the property of the operators but belongs to all residents who have helped build it, we carried out this process after discussing with the residents. The result is for the party leader to fully accept it.”
