The girl group I.O.I is returning to the music scene to mark the 10th anniversary of their debut.

On the 23rd, Swing Entertainment stated, “I.O.I has confirmed a return in May” and mentioned, “They are currently working on a new album.” Swing Entertainment is responsible for the 10th-anniversary project and manages the comeback efforts.

This event, held roughly nine years after 2017, signifies a reunion to celebrate I.O.I’s 10th anniversary. The members had repeatedly stated their wish to reunite during interviews and official events, and they eventually came together following extended discussions. However, Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong will not take part in this event due to unavoidable scheduling issues. Lim Na Young, Chungha, Kim Se-jeong, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim So Hye, Yoo Yeonjeong, Choi Yeonjung, Kim Do Yeon, and Jeon Somi will return as a nine-member group.

Members who have established successful careers as solo artists, actors, and variety show performers in their respective areas are coming together as a group for the first time in ten years, exciting fans with the new music and performances I.O.I will showcase. There is increasing curiosity about how each member’s accumulated experiences and unique personalities will blend effectively in their group activities.

I.O.I was created via a public vote on Mnet’s *Produce 101* in 2016 and made their debut in the music industry in May of that year. Beginning with their first song *Dream Girls*, they continued to release popular tracks such as *Whatta Man*, *Too Much*, and *Rain Shower*, achieving success on music shows and reaching the top of major charts, rapidly becoming a leading girl group. Due to these accomplishments, they showcased their presence by winning new artist awards at significant award events like the *Mnet Asian Music Awards*, *Golden Disc Awards*, and *Seoul Music Awards*. They ended their official activities with a concert in January 2017.

Alongside the launch of this new album, I.O.I intends to organize a concert in Seoul and an Asia tour. Specific schedules and details about the album for I.O.I’s 10th-anniversary return will be revealed one after another.
