Thieves took £500,000 in high-end merchandise through a series of ‘smash and grab’ attacks on upscale stores.London retailers, a court heard.

Ryan Brough, aged 32, Max Tyson, 25, Oliver Ndayizeye, 35, Sonny Stringer, 30, and Harry Johnson, 24, have faced charges of plotting to commit burglaries during a three-month span from November 2025 to January 2026.

Five suspects are said to have driven a black SUV from Islington, north London, into the city center and then crashed it into the windows of luxury fashion stores.

They have been charged with stealing £30,000 in handbags from Yves Saint Laurent on Bond Street on January 23, during a bold robbery that was recorded by bystanders.

Brough and Tyson, residents of Islington, were taken into custody later that same day and faced charges. Ndayizeye, Stringer, and Johnson were later charged with participation.

The accused attended Inner London Crown Court this week through a video connection from correctional facilities including Wandsworth, Thameside, and Chelmsford.

Brough, Tyson, Ndayizeye, Stringer, and Johnson are accused of plotting to break into Yves Saint Laurent on November 11.

Four of the suspected criminals, apart from Ndayizeye, are now confronted with an additional accusation connected to break-ins at Bottega Veneta, END Clothing, and Loro Piana.

Prosecutor Gitana Megvine previously mentioned that the charges involve a number of ‘high-value smash-and-grab commercial thefts.’

She mentioned that five raids were conducted using a stolen vehicle in coordination with a moped and high-performance electric bikes.

She stated, ‘Each of the incidents involved a vehicle that was intentionally stolen and driven backward through the windows of the buildings.’

The overall worth of the stolen property has now surpassed £500,000.

Tyson, Brough, Stringer, and Johnson are accused of attacking Bottega Veneta on Old Bond Street on November 17, using a car to crash into the shop and steal high-end items valued at over £40,000.

The four individuals are also charged with conducting a comparable attack at END Clothing on Broadwick Street on December 1.

Tyson, Brough, Stringer, and Johnson face additional charges related to a burglary at Loro Piana, a high-end Italian clothing brand located just a short distance from Harrods, which occurred on December 16.

Thieves utilized a white Mitsubishi SUV to crash into the store’s windows on Sloane Street, stealing items valued at nearly £400,000.

Judge Ian Darling kept the five defendants in jail before their trial scheduled for September 7.

They will attend another case management session on March 20 and a potential plea and trial preparation meeting on March 31.
