A cowboy celebrity had to witness in terror as her three-year-old daughter died in an unusual horse riding incident.

Oaklynn Rae Domer died on Thursday when one of the family’s horses collapsed on her and her mother Kelsie Domer, who is a ten-time rodeo world champion.

Domer was carrying the young child as he guided the horse when the animal experienced a health emergency,Rodeo Life reported. 

Authorities made efforts to save Oaklynn’s life, but she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

It remains uncertain whether Domer, who survived the event, was injured in the accident.

Domer and her husband Ryan are currently grieving the loss of their young daughter, whom they describe as “taken from us too soon.”

“Oaklynn accomplished a great deal in her brief time with us,” she said.obituarymentioned, emphasizing how she will be recalled for ‘loving her family with all her heart’.

Oaklynn had experience with horses and often practiced in the arena with her parents, as stated in her obituary. She also journeyed across the country while they participated in rodeo competitions.

She had a fondness for frogs, horses, everyone’s puppies, visiting ‘yodeos,’ and spending time with all her friends,” the obituary stated. “She brightened the room the moment she arrived.

After the incident, Domer and the Simply Equine & K9 team released a combined statement on Instagram.

“Our hearts are broken beyond description. Sweet Oaklynn received her angel wings much too early,” the team, which Domer has been part of for four years, stated.

Just Equine & K9 asked its followers to pray for Domer, Ryan, their family, and all who cherished this wonderful person.

“We don’t always comprehend God’s design… but we maintain the belief that she is cradled in His embrace,” the statement said.

Equine athletes and wranglers have been honoring Oaklynn and her family following the tragic announcement.

They dressed in pink to pay tribute to the young girl as they participated in a contest in San Antonio on Friday, just under 24 hours following her passing.

“I know my baby girl loved seeing all that PINK,” Domer said about the tribute. She also posted a link to a pink baseball cap featuring the words “be the light,” which is being sold in memory of Oaklynn.

Domer also shared a tribute from fellow breakaway roper Haley Sage Wright, who mentioned her family “got our pink on for Oaklynn!!”

“Pink as a tribute to the bravest little cowgirl,” Wright added.

Taormino Performance Horses posted a video showing a rider putting pink flowers in her horse’s saddle. “Your baby girl is with us today, Kels and Ryan,” the caption read.

Ryan Domer has not issued a public comment regarding his daughter’s passing, although he included her in his Facebook profile image.

He shared a link to the hat and a post from the Rope Like A Girl foundation, which is gathering funds for the family.

The funeral for Oaklynn is scheduled for Thursday at the Double N Cowboy Church in Dublin, Texas.

Attendees can view a live broadcast of the ceremony via the church’s Facebook page.
