Among the various legal challenges Donald Trump encountered, including allegations of sexual misconduct and financial deception, the investigation into the alleged theft of government documents in Florida by a special counsel was his greatest concern.Jack Smithwhich was abandoned after he secured another term.
That comes from “Morning Joe” co-host Jonathan Lemire, who shared about the president’s fear of being found guilty during a conversation onU.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’sMonday’s ruling that permanently halted theJustice Departmentabout releasing Smith’s last report.
With MS NOW legal expert Lisa Rubin once again stating“all bets”would be different if the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals gets involved, Lemire noted that Trump was aware his appointee helped conceal his actions.
Following reports of significant doubt after Smith decided to take the case to Florida, which eventually brought it to Cannon’s courtroom, Lemire stated, “Judge Cannon clearly favored Trump in a major way throughout the process. And you’re correct, Joe [Scarborough], we’ve discussed this on the show before—Trump has privately told people, more or less, that Smith was clearly in the wrong on that issue.”
