A woman was taken into custody on murder charges following the discovery of a Rotherham tourist’s body in a hotel in Tenerife.
A 56-year-old individual was taken into custody on Wednesday following the discovery of Russell Watts’ body in his hotel room at the Hotel Catalonia Punta Del Ray on January 10.
South Yorkshire Policeadded the woman, who hails from the Rotherham region, is still in police detention.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood stated, “This is a complicated case, and our primary concern continues to be with Russell’s family, friends, and those who care about him.”
He mentioned that the inquiry was “in its initial phase” and that authorities were “conducting various thorough investigations” to determine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Watts’s death.
“We are very eager to receive input from anyone who was staying at the hotel during the period of Russell’s passing,” said DCI Wood.
