The Blackpink group will return on the 27th at 2 p.m. with their third mini album “Deadline.” The global music community is focusing on their first full-group album in 3 years and 5 months, which will mark the end of their extensive world tour that started last year.

This album highlights “Blackpink’s irreplaceable best moments” and “Blackpink’s present excellence during those peak moments.” YG, the agency, stated that the five tracks, featuring a variety of styles, demonstrate Blackpink’s boundless musical development.

◇ Blackpink’s Theme of Bravery and Unity in “GO”

The song “GO” combines a strong musical arrangement with an engaging tune. It also conveys a message of bravery and unity through the bold group chant “Blackpink’ll make ya.”

The “GO” music video trailer depicted the members setting off on a journey into the cosmos, navigating through a turbulent ocean and a terrain filled with lava. The impressive scale and striking visuals were remarkable.

Billboard noted, “Blackpink is getting ready for a major jump for BLINK (the name of their fanbase) after taking initial small steps,” emphasizing remarkable moments from the preview and stating, “It will be an album featuring a striking and captivating concept.”

◇ Pink Tides Flow into the Museum

Blackpink’s upcoming activities transformed into a cultural celebration. The day before, a pre-release music event for their new album took place under pink waves, the group’s iconic color, at the “History Hall” on the first floor of the National Museum of Korea. This was the museum’s first collaboration with an outside brand to open its venue.

A unique and captivating scene emerged as powerful waves of the new song “GO” washed over the 8-meter-tall digital Gwanggaeto Stele, symbolizing 1,600 years of history. The members personally served as multilingual (Korean, English, Thai) audio guides, explaining cultural treasures like the Pensive Bodhisattva and White Porcelain Moon Jar, leading the international fanbase into the heart of Korean traditional heritage.

◇ The First Musician Globally to Exceed 100 Million YouTube Followers

Blackpink has broken many records. During promotions for their second full album “Born Pink,” they reached the top of both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart. They became double million sellers (2.14 million copies sold as of September 2022) and attracted 1.8 million spectators during one tour, making history as a K-pop girl group.

Before their full group comeback, they released another album. Since starting full album promotion on the 15th, their YouTube channel added an average of 10,000 new subscribers each day, making them the first artist globally to exceed 100 million YouTube subscribers.

A representative from YG stated, “Although they had a busy schedule during the large-scale world tour, they dedicated a significant amount of time to refining the album’s quality. We are confident that this outcome showcases the members’ musical talents and teamwork. We hope for substantial support as they make a lasting impact in the global music industry.”
