Photos of the couple, who revealed their marriage on Friday, were generated through AI, confirmed Byun’s agency.

Images purported to be from the wedding shoot ofSouth KoreanThe online circulation of images featuring Girls’ Generation member Tiffany Young and actor Byun Yo-han quickly spread – only to be verified as artificial intelligence-created forgeries.

Shortly after Young, 36, and Byun, 39, declared they had officially registered their marriage, images of the couple reportedly started spreading acrosssocial mediaand online communities under the title “Tiffany-Byun Yo-han wedding photos”

The photos showed Young wearing a pink-hued wedding gown and Byun in a pink suit, standing with members of Girls’ Generation as though it were a formal wedding photo session.

The early feedback was favorable, including remarks such as “it’s touching to witness all members of Girls’ Generation together” and “the pleasant ambiance is effectively portrayed,” according to the Chosun Daily.

Nevertheless, some people doubted if they were generated by AI, pointing out the unnatural appearance and postures. One of the images included Jessica Jung, who departed from the group in September 2014, fueling more doubts about alterations.

The pictures were generated usingartificial intelligenceand not derived from any actual photo session, Xportsnews reported.

“The wedding images being shared online were never captured,” said Byun’s agency, Team Hope.

The situation brings attention to increasing worries about hyperrealistic AI images circulating on the internet, especially concerning popular subjects like celebrity romances and unions, where fake material might be confused with reality.

Team Hope stated on Friday that the couple had officially registered their marriage.

“The couple got married today, driven by the strong love and trust they share,” the agency stated in a press release, as reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily.

They are thoughtfully planning a small wedding with close family to express their appreciation, in the form of a [church] ceremony.

Young and Byun encountered each other while appearing together in the 2024 Disney+ original seriesUncle Samsik. Young is the first member of Girls’ Generation to tie the knot.
