- Hanson charged with referring to Thorpe as a ‘b****’
Independent Senator Lidia Thorpehas charged the leader of One NationPauline Hansonof referring to her as a ‘b****’ during aSenate debate.
On Monday morning, Thorpe brought up a procedural issue.
“I was just called a b**** by a racist,” she said, mentioning Hanson.
Hanson exited the room shortly thereafter, expressing criticism towards Thorpe as she left.
“I’ll be happy to see your backside here in two years,” Hanson remarked.
The event took place during a discussion about Israel and the United States’ latest attack againstIran, which resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The Senate was discussing an Opposition proposal that expressed approval of Khamenei’s passing and criticized the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The conflict between Hanson and Thorpe arose following Hanson’s criticism of the Greens for not backing the motion, labeling them as the most anti-Australian individuals in the Senate.

“The most anti-Australian individuals who do not stand up for this nation… our flag… anything,” Hanson stated in her speech.
Green Party Senator Sarah Hanson-Young and Lidia Thorpe interrupted Hanson’s speech with interruptions.
“What have you ever done for the Iranian refugees in this country?” Hanson-Young said to Hanson.
You’re the one who despises Australia.
Thorpe later ridiculed Hanson following her error in calling US President Donald Trump ‘Senator Trump’ during her speech.
“Trump isn’t a Senator… which planet are you from?” Thorpe stated.
