A person has been taken into custody following the discovery of arms in an unmarked car near the Republican Attorney General’s location.Ken Paxton‘s election night watch party in Texas.
Officers discovered over a dozen bullet casings and several boxes of ammunition stacked inside the suspect’s car.
Paxton is competing in a primary election against sitting Senator John Cornyn and Congressman Wesley Hunt on Tuesday.
Alex Muse, a witness to the event, stated that the individual who was taken into custody was wearing a camouflage face mask, sunglasses, a hat, and gloves while standing outside the Marriott in Dallas Uptown.
A security threat emerged before a prominent campaign event for Paxton during the intense periodGOPmain event on Tuesday night following a questionable individual being held by authorities at the hotel location, according to theNew York Times.
A member of Paxton’s campaign team disclosed that the individual was observed entering the hotel and requesting access to the restroom, causing worry among the staff.
A hotel staff member, who requested to remain unidentified during the ongoing police inquiry, mentioned that he had a short conversation with the individual, who stated he was anUber driver.
But the explanation instantly triggered suspicions.
As per the employee, the car the man was operating seemed to lack any license plates — a concerning fact that heightened doubts regarding his motives.

Law enforcement arrived quickly and subsequently inspected the car. It seemed officers took a license plate from within the vehicle, although they did not provide any information regarding the reason for the man’s arrest. Additionally, it is still unknown if he was carrying a weapon when he entered the hotel.
The disturbing event occurred just before the doors were expected to open at 6 PM Central Time for the campaign gathering. Many Paxton team members and journalists had already assembled inside the hotel, while voting polls in most parts of Texas were scheduled to close at 7 PM Central Time, except for a few of the state’s more western counties.
Although there was a stressful interruption, Paxton is still scheduled to show up and speak to supporters later that night.
Paxton is considered the leading candidate in the GOP primary race, but is expected to fail to secure enough votes to win the election outright, resulting in a runoff against incumbent Cornyn.
