A 21-meter-long drilling machine fell at a construction site for an underground tunnel at Manchon Station on Daegu Metro Line 2, situated at Manchon Intersection in Suseong-gu, Daegu, resulting in three individuals being injured.

As reported by the Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters and other sources on the 4th, the drilling equipment, designed for creating holes in the earth or bedrock, unexpectedly collapsed around 9:07 a.m. that day.

Three people sustained minor injuries in the accident: Mr. A, who was operating the drilling machine, Mr. B, a taxi driver trying to evade the falling equipment, and passenger Mr. C. After the incident, the drilling machine operator and the taxi driver were taken to a hospital, while passenger Mr. C went home by himself.

The authorities intend to examine if safety protocols were adhered to at the building location and whether the drilling equipment linked to the accident was authentic, along with other factors to identify the precise reason for the event.
