A conservative American writer named Jason Lewis claims that it’s highly likely President Donald Trump has ruined the chances for Republicans in the November elections.
Oh, how much can change in a week, said LewisBack then, we were discussing the State of the Union. You know, a specific collection of domestic issues that America First approaches aimed to address: swapping income taxes for tariffs, lowering the cost of living driven by Democrats, fighting fraud and city crime, putting an end to ‘identity politics,’ recognizing biological truths, implementing voter ID requirements, and ensuring secure voting processes.
Lewis notes that Trump evendeftlychallenged “his radical opposition (Democrats)” to confirm that “the first responsibility of the American government is to safeguard American citizens…”
“They didn’t,” said Lewis, “and we believed their strange agenda would be central to the midterm elections in eight months.” But now, everything is uncertain.
General Dan Caine, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is said to have informed the president about limitations in supplies and troop deployment, and is currently increasing military presence in the Middle East, said Lewis. Iran is four times larger than Iraq, with over 90 million discontented individuals—now thoroughly angry that the Ayatollah Khamenei has passed away. And no one is certain how many ballistic missiles Iran still possesses.
This is not how you fulfill the “first duty of the American government … to protect American citizens,” as Trump questioned — and Lewis fears that voters will bring this up against Republicans in November.
Trump embodies his own movement, so he might have the right to redefine it,” Lewis stated, but it would be surprising if Trump succeeds in persuading a strongly anti-neo-conservative country to suddenly support “regime change.
Regardless of which side you’re on and how you interpret it, it conflicts with many Trump supporters,” said Lewis. “The only thing those of us who have concerns about it can say is, ‘I hope he’s correct.’ Because if he isn’t, the midterms are over — and so is America First.
Lewis stated that charismatic MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk “understood” the danger of a “perpetual military-industrial complex,” but Kirk has left.
The remaining so-called ‘conservative’ media are already reconsidering their late-stage MAGA allegiance,” Lewis expressed concern. “And don’t mistake it, the GOP in Congress is ready to return to the Bush-McConnell norm faster than you can utter RINO.
Lewis expressed his personal hope that things work out for Trump, “because now he is responsible for it.”
