Kemi Badenochhas charged Labour with ‘engaging in student politics’ while ‘the rest of the world is rearming’ as SirKeir Starmer ‘sits on the fence’.

In a new critique of the government’s handling of theIran war, the Conservative leaderstated that Labour is “not at all the patriotic party of the past” and referred to Sir Keir as merely a “political hostage.”

Ms. Badenoch, who has frequently urged the government to approveRAFaggressive attacks on Iran’s missile facilities, implying the Prime Minister was ‘too fearful of angering specific groups within Labour’s voter base to act in the country’s best interest’.

“He is being detained at the request of a group of second-rate leftist MPs, none of whom understand the gravity of the current situation in Britain,” she said at today’s Conservative Spring Conference.

She continued her strong criticism of what she views as Labour’s delay and lack of support for the US, stating, “I never imagined I would live to see a time when Britain’s allies felt they could not count on us.”

This week, they have labeled us as weak. They have charged us with abandoning them, of disappearing from the battlefield.

She informed attendees in Harrogate this morning that the US “have observed Britain declining to provide additional support to protect our military installations in the Mediterranean” and will criticize Labour’s inability to ready the armed forces for conflict.

“The United States, Greece, and France have all deployed ships. Ours is currently trapped in Portsmouth Harbour, reportedly due to a union conflict,” said Ms. Badenoch, referring to the controversy surrounding the air defense destroyer HMS Dragon.

This week it was revealed that the crucial military asset — capable of shooting down drones and missiles — remained in port at Portsmouth rather than heading to assist in safeguarding the British base and personnel at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, which was targeted by a drone last week.

The battleship is not anticipated to set sail until next week and may require several days to reach the eastern Mediterranean.

It has been revealed that the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales is being prepared for a potential mission to the Middle East.

Creating an image of a hesitant and fearful Prime Minister who is unable to decide on his course of action, she addressed the conference: ‘Everyone recalls the errors of the Iraq war. No one is implying that we should drop bombs without careful consideration.’

But Keir Starmer spent several days seeking legal advice and gathering the strength to declare which side he was on, despite our allies having the moral clarity to take a firm and immediate stance.

Even now, he remains undecided about our role in this conflict. We are involved in this war regardless of Keir Starmer’s opinion. It’s time to take action.

Her statement followed continuous criticism from US President Donald Trump regarding Britain’s inability to provide its supposed crucial ally with immediate and full support, allowing initial US attacks on Iran from UK bases.

Sir Keir stated that any such decision would have been illegal and urged for a ‘feasible, well-considered strategy’.

He has recently given approval for the US to utilize RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, its sole European base, to conduct ‘defensive’ strikes exclusively on ballistic missile storage facilities in Iran.

Supersonic B1 Lancer bombers, referred to by military specialists as “one of the most important bombers globally” due to their scale and performance, reached the UK base on Friday and Saturday and are set to be ready for upcoming strikes against Iran.

Yesterday, Ms Badenoch stated to the BBC that the Royal Air Force must accomplish more than merely intercepting missiles and drones launched by Iran against allies in the Gulf.

They must do more than just that. They have to halt the missile installations. You should head to the origin.

“If you’re dealing with someone wielding a gun and firing, merely stopping the bullets isn’t sufficient—you must target the weapon itself,” she stated.

You aren’t always able to wait for others to strike. There are times when you must act quickly to prevent them from harming your people.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated yesterday that there is a legal foundation for permitting RAF aircraft to attack Iranian missile facilities.

In her address today, Ms Badenoch also criticized the government’s domestic record and its defeat in the Gorton and Denton safe seat to the Greens, asserting that it had ‘intimidated’ the party.

“They observed the Greens running their campaign along sectarian voting lines, a strategy that Labour had employed for years and now was being used against them,” she said.
