Kristi Noem was seen frowning during her initial media appearance following her dismissal by Trump from the position of Secretary of Homeland Security.

Noem had to observe the president while he delivered a speech at the Shield of the Americas Summit on Saturday, discussing his administration’s strategy to combat cartels and protect the American border.

Following her abrupt dismissal on Thursday, Trump named Noem as a special envoy for the security initiative, according to reports. The Hill.

The Americas’ Shield is an alliance comprising over 17 Latin American nations that have committed to working alongside the United States to ensure stability in the Western Hemisphere.

Noem has been assigned to collaborate with international leaders across the Americas to address human trafficking, drug smuggling, and unauthorized migration throughout North and South America.

As per Trump, the administration has already achieved great success in its effort to eliminate illegal imports entering the United States.

“We eliminated 96 percent of the drugs arriving by sea and through waterways,” he stated at the conference in Miami.

We’re attempting to discover who the other four percent are, as I believe they must be the most courageous individuals in the world.

The leader commended Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth, who have taken the lead in the new program.

He also highlighted the achievements of Treasurer Scott Bessent and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, along with other team members and supporters.

However, for Noem, Trump only mentioned her name within the list and proceeded without offering any remarks about her achievements, similar to how he addressed the others involved in the initiative.

A number of Latin American leaders, several of whom Trump specifically named, were present at Saturday’s summit.

The president stated, ‘Every leader present today shares the belief that we can no longer and will not accept the lawlessness in our region.’

Although she faced a demeaning dismissal and was snubbed on Saturday, Noem appeared thankful to the president for her new role with the Shield of the Americas.

She mentioned her new position on social media on Thursday.

“Thank you, President Trump, for naming me as the Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas,” she wrote.

Secretary Rubion and Secretary Hegseth are outstanding leaders, and I am eager to collaborate with them closely to dismantle cartels that have flooded our country with drugs and taken the lives of our children and grandchildren.

The Western Hemisphere plays a vital role in U.S. security. In this new position, I will have the opportunity to strengthen the alliances and national security experience I developed during my 13 months as Secretary of Homeland Security.

We have achieved significant milestones within the Department of Homeland Security to restore safety to America: we established the most secure border in U.S. history, 3 million undocumented individuals have departed the country, we have identified 145,000 children, FEMA provided disaster assistance at a 100% quicker pace, we introduced a new era of travel, saved American taxpayers $13 billion, and rejuvenated the U.S. Coast Guard.
