Surkhet, March 12 — A specialized group from the Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau has arrived in Surkhet to continue probing the death of Inisa BK.

A 16-year-old girl from Gurbhakot Municipality-6 in Surkhet, who had been residing in Birendranagar-1 to continue her higher secondary studies along with her mother and brother, was discovered unconscious in the Bhairab Community Forest on March 7.

Police and residents quickly took Inisa to the Provincial Hospital in Birendranagar, where medical professionals confirmed her death later that day. Relatives allege that Inisa was sexually assaulted prior to her murder.

The CIB team’s deployment was initiated following a request from the District Police Office after finishing the initial phase of inquiries.

Head of Police for the district police station in Surkhet, Sudhir Raj Shahi verified that the team headed by an inspector arrived in Birendranagar on Thursday.

The autopsy results have been released. Electronic devices such as the victim’s and suspects’ mobile phones have been sent to a forensic laboratory at the center for analysis,” he stated, “We will determine the final cause of Inisa’s death once the reports are received.

In the same way, a specialized team from the Karnali Provincial Police Office in Nepalgunj arrived at the district to perform polygraph tests to support the investigation. “Polygraph testing is utilized to confirm the statements of suspects. The police are carrying out investigations after gathering all available information,” stated Shahi.
