Provincial Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman stated on Tuesday that the Punjab government is actively fostering unity among different faiths and sects throughout the province, working alongside religious scholars.

He shared these opinions during a meeting with a group from the Imam Khomeini Trust Mianwali at the Punjab Home Department, in accordance with the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to maintain communication with religious scholars.

The Chief Minister’s advisor, Rana Bilal Ahmad, also participated in the meeting, with Home Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi and other high-ranking officials in attendance.

The group of religious scholars comprised Allama Intesar Hussain Naqvi, Allama Syed Kazim Raza Naqvi, Qasim Ali Qasmi, Mushtaq Hussain Kazmi, Syed Karam Hussain, Syed Khadim Naqvi, Chaudhry Safdar Hussain, Niaz Hussain Hashmi, Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Kazmi, Noor Elahi, Ali Shakir, Syed Shahid Hussain Gilani, Gul Muhammad Paracha, and Qasim Ali Shah. In the meeting, attendees deliberated on security measures for Youm-e-Ali (RA) and the general law and order conditions in the province.

Salman Rafique mentioned that the chief minister had instructed the police and other pertinent organizations to implement secure security measures for the event commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA). He further stated that all available resources were being used to ensure tranquility throughout Punjab.

He highlighted the significant role of religious scholars in preserving peace on Youm-e-Ali (RA) and stressed that unity and harmony are crucial for maintaining societal stability. He mentioned that peace committees throughout Punjab continued to be fully operational during the sacred month of Ramadan.

On the occasion, Rana Bilal Ahmad stated that all sections of society supported law enforcement agencies in ensuring the security and stability of Pakistan, emphasizing that religious scholars had a significant role in fostering unity and harmony within society. Ahmed Javed Qazi, Secretary Home, mentioned that stringent security measures were being implemented for Youm-e-Ali (RA), Youm-e-Quds, and Eid, and urged citizens to report sectarian or inappropriate content on social media via WhatsApp numbers 03073087777 and 03073097777 for immediate action.

The group of religious experts pledged the government their complete support in upholding law and order and encouraging harmony between various ideologies.

At the conclusion of the gathering, invocations were made for the nation’s peace, security, and economic growth.
