The Special Communication Organization (SCO) is essential in linking the remote mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir with contemporary communication infrastructure.
In an effort to enhance digital connectivity, the SCO plans to launch 5G technology services in both areas.
As part of the initiative, seven new 5G base stations are being set up to reinforce the contemporary telecommunications system and improve network ability in regions with mountainous terrain.
Authorities mentioned that during the first stage, 5G services will be introduced in five key cities located in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, aiming to enhance fast internet connectivity and communication infrastructure.
The initiative is now in its last phase and is anticipated to be finished by June of this year, representing a major advancement in enhancing high-level communication services within the area.
