The U.S. president did not provide clear conditions for a peaceful resolution. At the same time, Iran has kept attacking nations in the Gulf, warning that it may expand its strikes if Washington attacks Iranian energy facilities. Follow.

Trump has confirmed that U.S. forces conducted attacks on Kharg Island, stating, “we may hit it a few more times just for fun.” The U.S. president has also raised doubts about whether Iran’s new supreme leader is still alive. Tehran has kept targeting Gulf nations. Iran has threatened to attack U.S. companies located in the Middle East if Washington were to strike its energy infrastructure.

A summary of the key events in the US-Israeli conflict with Iran on Sunday, March 15:

Iran keeps launching attacks on Gulf countries

Multiple Gulf nations have indicated ongoing Iranian missile and drone strikes, as the US-Israeli conflict with Iran continues into its third week.

The Saudi Arabian Defense Ministry reported that six ballistic missiles were intercepted in the Al Kharj region, home to the Prince Sultan Air Base.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced late on Saturday that they had fired missiles at US troops located at the base.

In the UAE, where Iranian attacks have been most intense, air defenses in the Fujairah emirate shot down a drone, whose wreckage caused a fire. The Fujairah port serves as a crucial storage and transfer center, especially for oil.

Kuwait and Qatar also mentioned attacks that occurred late on Saturday.

Trump: The terms for a deal with Iran “aren’t sufficient yet”; the US could bomb Kharg Island “just for fun”

On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he was not prepared to reach an agreement with Iran as “the conditions are not yet favorable.” Nevertheless, he did not provide details on what would constitute acceptable terms for such a deal.

“Iran is looking to reach an agreement, but I’m not interested in making one because the conditions aren’t satisfactory at the moment,” he mentioned during a phone conversation with NBC News. When questioned about the terms he was seeking, he responded, “I don’t want to disclose that to you,” but confirmed that they would require Iran to pledge to stop its nuclear aspirations.

The leader verified that American military personnel conducted attacks on Kharg Island, which houses an oil facility responsible for the bulk of Iran’s oil exports.

“We completely destroyed Kharg Island, but we might hit it a couple more times for enjoyment,” Trump said to the American broadcaster.

The U.S. president also raised doubts about whether Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is still alive, although he referred to reports of his death as a “rumor.”

“I’ve heard he’s no longer alive, and if he is, he should take a very wise action for his nation, which is to surrender,” Trump stated.

Trump also minimized the rising oil prices following the US-Israeli strikes on Iran that sparked the conflict.

“There’s a vast amount of oil and gas available, but it’s experiencing some delays. It should be resolved soon,” the president added.

Trump and his government have provided different — and at times conflicting — reasons for the US initiating the conflict with Iran, along with no clear strategy on how to bring it to a close.
