- A devastating accident in Tema has resulted in two fatalities when the small aircraft they were aboard caught fire following a crash.

Two individuals are said to have died following an airplane they were aboard.crashed in Temaon Monday, March 16, 2026.

The incident, which took place at Oninku Park in Tema Community 1, prompted security and emergency services to arrive promptly. However, they were unable to manage the situation effectively as the plane was engulfed in flames.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has verified the accident. In a press release, the GCAA stated that the small aircraft bearing the registration 9G-ADV was en route from Ho to Accra.

Tema’s aircraft was grounded for 22 years.
After the identification of the downed aircraft, it has come to light that the small plane had been out of service for 22 years and began operating again just under three years ago.
Checks by .ghstate that the aircraft is a 3I Sky Arrow 650, produced by Iniziative Industriali Italiane from 1992 to 2008.
A February 2023 Facebook postby Roberto Billia, the Managing Director of Gianair, a Ghanaian airline based in Accra and Obuasi, stated that the plane had been out of service for the past 22 years and had only recently been revived.
He posted images of the plane and a video accompanied by the caption:
After 22 years, 9G-ADV is airborne once again!!!! WHAT A FEELING!!!!!!. Soon, more video from Go-Pro.

The post implies that the aircraft was likely out of service around 2001 until it underwent restoration.
Previous posts made by Roberto Billia suggested that the rehabilitation of 9G-ADV had started several months prior. One of the olderFacebook postsfrom January 2023 depicted him and others positioned next to the plane while they attempted to repair it.
Nearly prepared, after 21 years, it is almost set to take to the skies again. Yesterday, it underwent an inspection by the GCAA to obtain the permit for the test flight.

Based on the previous posts, the 9G-ADV was examined by the GCAA and obtained approval for its initial test flight following the restoration in January 2023. The test flight took place in February, after which it was officially approved.
At the moment of this report,.ghwas unable to verify if the aircraft was part of Gianair’s stables or being managed by a different airline.
Plane crash supports Emmanuel Adjei’s prediction
Meanwhile, .gh reported that the founder and head of Prayer Palace Ministry International, Prophet Emmanuel Adjei,had been trendingin the aftermath of the tragic airplane accident.
The trend follows videos depicting Prophet Adjei, during his virtual prayer session, describing a visionconcerning a plane crash, emerged online.
In the video, he mentioned that he predicted the aircraft was abruptly struck by a powerful gust while airborne.
