Dhaka, March 17 — Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam stated on Monday that there are no significant issues expected to affect security during the upcoming Eid travel period, although officials have been told to stay vigilant in order to provide good service to travelers.
He expressed these comments while addressing reporters during a visit to the Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the capital.
The official stated that all necessary measures have been implemented to guarantee secure and hassle-free river travel for returning individuals before Eid al-Fitr.
Rabiul Alam is currently in charge of the Ministry of Shipping, along with the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways.
While visiting, he examined various terminal gates, passenger service areas, and other amenities, and had conversations with travelers getting ready to go back home for Eid.
State Minister Rajib Ahsan, MP Habibur Rashid, Shipping Secretary Nurunnahar Chowdhury, and other officials were in attendance during the visit.
“We hope travelers get the right assistance during the Eid trip. Our aim is to let them return home safely and with ease. All necessary arrangements have been made for this,” the minister stated.
Following the inspection, he handed out relief supplies to the workers at the terminal and encouraged them to help travelers during the Eid peak period.
He mentioned that the nation is advancing because of the efforts of workers and urged them to act with responsibility and kindness to ensure passengers are not subjected to any mistreatment.
