Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has stated that he will work vigorously to gather backing in Western Kenya for President William Ruto’s 2027 campaign for re-election.

Mudavadi stated that Western Kenya will remain part of the ruling UDA party within the inclusive government and has urged for a shared vision as the 2027 elections approach.

“We are seeking a decisive win for President Ruto. A victory that is undeniable, one that is clear and emphatic,” stated Mudavadi.

Perhaps by 2027, we will want the president to be paid his salary, even if he thinks he will go to court and fight it.

Mudavadi, who has recently confirmed his stance within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), stated that Western Kenya is still reaping the advantages of the initiatives led by President Ruto, which is why he is encouraging the Western Kenya area to support the ruling party at an early stage. He added that UDA is the sole party with a nationwide reach and better prospects of gaining power in the 2027 national elections.

I call on the residents of this area to enroll as voters. If you possess a National Identification Card, go ahead and register. We aim to embarrass those moving through our region, making false promises and lacking any plan for the future of our people,” he stated.

Mudavadi was addressing an audience in Mbale town, having joined President Ruto for the ceremony marking the start of construction on the Mbale County Strategic Market in Vihiga County.

He pledged the backing of Vihiga County’s residents to the President, encouraging them to remain determined and resolute in securing Ruto’s second term by August 2027.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Vihiga for assisting us in forming this government in 2022 when you cast your votes for President Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza team. We must now remain strong because we understand where the government is leading us and who will constitute the next government. Tuache mambo ya kando kando na kurukaruka,” Mudavadi stressed.

In 2022, I was present. I provided you with the guidance. Those who didn’t believe were taken aback by the fact that Ruto emerged victorious. I am returning to urge you, let’s move forward together, Ruto will be in 2027, and we need to be part of this success.

Mudavadi addressed the people of Vihiga and Western Kenya.

Mudavadi has publicly stated that if President William Ruto finishes his second term in 2032, he intends to take over.

He has previously stated that fully adopting UDA would provide him and the region with smoother access to the Rift Valley, where the party has significant backing, along with other areas of the country.

He observed that this is essential for anyone aiming to gain national backing for a presidential campaign.
