President Donald Trump greeted the newly appointed Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, during which they exchanged views on the support Japan could offer the United States concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump stated that 90 percent of the oil Japan imports comes from the Strait of Hormuz. Japan pledged to assist in ensuring the strait’s security and facilitating ship passage, but only after hostilities cease.
A journalist from Japan stated, “Japan and the United States are very close allies, but there’s one question: Why didn’t you inform U.S. allies in Europe and Asia, such as Japan, about the war before attacking Iran? Therefore, we are quite puzzled…”
Trump replied, stating that it was a calculated move and that he didn’t wish to convey to anyone that an attack was imminent.
We entered very aggressively and we kept it secret because we wanted to create a surprise,” Trump stated. “Who understands surprise better than Japan? Why didn’t you inform me about Pearl Harbor?
Trump removed embassy personnel from Israel, but not from other countries in the Persian Gulf. U.S. troops were also not all stationed in secure areas. Six American soldiers died while working in a triple-wide trailer when a drone struck them from above.
